The History Of Wales
In ancient times this territory was occupied by the Celts who came from Europe. Later came the Romans, who brought to these lands to Christianity, built FORTS, mined gold. And it was pretty quiet. But then came the Saxons, the Scandinavians. Then like a black cat crossed the road of the history of Wales. He completely fell under the sway of the English crown.
In the X century under pressure from the British, the Welsh are forced to acknowledge the English king as their king. And only three centuries later broke out again a spark of hope for independence. But once again fate played against Wales a cruel joke.
In XIII century the king of England Henry III tried to turn an ancient Kingdom in Wales resigned the possession of the English crown. The only thing that could make the rulers of Wales, is the fact that the Prince of Wales managed to get permission to be called the Prince of Wales. But it’s almost nothing at all. The fate of Wales still administer the English crown. And soon did the title of the Prince of Wales was granted to the eldest son of king Edward. And since all the heirs of the English throne before his coronation, have the title Prince of Wales.
Edward to consolidate his power over Wales has crafted a series of powerful fortresses. And most of these castles have witnessed turbulent and sometimes rebellious history of this region. A long chain of fortresses and castles formed the so-called “iron ring”.
